What is your work background?

I have a particular interest in working with children and adolescents and their families, especially in the areas of learning and developmental difficulties, challenging family dynamics (particularly during transitions) and mental health challenges in young people such as Anxiety & ADHD. I am experienced and interested in Psychoeducational assessment in order to better understand individual strengths and challenges and the interplay with their family and educational setting.

I have gained significant experience working as a Psychologist in school settings, both primary and secondary schools, and has also worked in early intervention health settings.

Why do you like working with children and families?

I am passionate about families and enjoy working with parents to more successfully help their children navigate their world through: understanding their children’s strengths and challenges (academically, socially and emotionally); understanding their parenting and their family dynamics; and gaining practical and functional skills.

What are your strengths?

Working from a systems perspective, I use various therapeutic approaches, including mindfulness, cognitive-behavioural therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, attachment focused therapy, zones of regulation and mindset/ resilience focused skill development. I am an open-minded, compassionate and child focused therapist and as such is happy to consult with stakeholders in order to benefit the child (e.g. their school).

What do you like to do in your free time?

My family and I  love to travel and experience adventure in the outdoors. My compassion for families and particular interest in sibling relationships has grown through parenting my own children. When I manage to find some ‘alone time’ I love going hiking or swimming or catching a movie.
