Where did you learn to be a clinical psychologist?
I completed a Bachelor of Arts with Honours, majoring in Psychology, my postgraduate studies included a Masters of Science and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Sydney.
Where have you worked?
I have over twelve years experience working in community child and adolescent services, major public children’s hospitals and private practices in Sydney and Brisbane.
Why do you like working in perinatal and child psychology?
I am passionate about helping mothers struggling with depression and anxiety and find it rewarding when I notice them enjoying motherhood and their lives once again after experiencing such a huge transition. I also like working with young children and primary school age children who are experiencing worries and difficulties managing their big emotions. Helping them to develop resilience, a sense of calm and coping skills brings me great joy and satisfaction.
What do you think you are best at?
Empathising, providing a calm yet fun and non-judgemental space where children can feel secure and open up. I am also good at building rapport with new mums.
What do you do in your spare time?
Dining, travel, yoga and spending time with my 2 young children.
What is something interesting about you?
I am passionate about animal rights
